Galectin-14, Human
Galectin14 is a member of the galectin family, of which members all contain one or two carbohydrate recognition domains targeting the beta-galactoside. The LGALS14 gene is predominantly expressed in the placenta. The gene encoded protein is identified inside the cells of placenta and eosinophils. LGALS14 is released by eosinophils following allergen stimulation.
